Richard Kolkman
Richard Kolkman, "Things from Nowhere" and "One Girl" - Indiana - E-mail | Archives

Richard Kolkman space Richard Kolkman is the creator of One Girl, and Things from Nowhere.
He is based somewhere in Indiana.

Born one month before the Berlin Wall.

Raised on a diet of Gilligan's Island, comic books, horror movies, and Beatnik Rock 'n' Roll.

Graduated from The Herron School of Art in 1988.

Self-syndicated The Occupants (1987) and Big Flat City (1988-1996) comic strips to weekly alternative and college newspapers.

Worked as a graphic designer for Indianapolis ad agencies and other clients including: GBI Design, SFX Entertainment, Clear Channel, and The American Legion.

Currently working as a freelance illustrator and designer.

Co-founder of the Seriocomics and Xulu Brand comic book imprints. Sometimes comics research historian and writer for TwoMorrows Publishing.

Mr. Kolkman has the temerity and gall to create and syndicate two untested, unproven weekly comic strips:

"One Girl" is an immature comic strip for all ages.
"Things from Nowhere" is a mature comic strip for all ages.

After all, in the sparking darkness of the magician's night, there is room for more than one spark!
