About Indiana Cartoonists.com ...

I often get asked, "How did INDIANA CARTOONISTS.com get started?"

After graduating from Western Kentucky University in 1996, I moved to Indiana to join The Times of Northwest Indiana to be their graphic artist / illustrator / editorial cartoonist.

After my third year at The Times, I became their full-time edtorial cartoonist and I decided I needed to hunt down other cartoonists in Indiana to "talk shop" and share our cartoons.

So, in 1999, www.indianacartoonists.com was born.

At that time, the only cartoonists I found to join the site were Dan Lynch, David Reddick, Gary Varvel and myself. All four of us were drawing editorial cartoons for our newspapers full-time.

Then the site grew bigger with weekly cartoonists ... and then more full-time cartoonists ... and now cartoonists who draw nationally syndicated comic strips.

The site has grown to 15 cartoonists (give or take a few)!

I hope you enjoy the site as much as we enjoy being a part of this unique group!
